VARIOUS PYRAUSTINE MOTHS
The Alamo Moth. This species is also typically found further south. This is the only individual I have ever seen, and it was probably a stray. Found on October 3, 2016.
Ironweed Root Moth. I have found several of these moths at my black lights and while hiking, from June through August.

Zigzag Herpetogramma. Very similar to the species above, but I see these moths much less often. This one was photographed in July 2017.
Bog Lygropia. The habitat is described as "boggy or wet areas," but they also come to UV lights in my suburban backyard. I have seen a couple of individuals at my lights in June and July.
Bold-feathered Grass Moth. A very common species. I find them every month from May through September.
Another Bold-feathered Grass Moth. These are very pearlescent moths.
Another Ironweed Root Moth, photographed in Beavercreek. Some individuals appear yellowish and some have a pale white background.
Scraped Pilocrocis. These moths are more common south of our area. I have only one sighting, this individual on September 5, 2017.

Another Zigzag Herpetogramma that came to my lights on September 18, 2024. These moths have more contrasting dark shading than the similar Bold-feathered Grass Moths.
Herbivorous Patania moth. This is my only sighting of the species. Found at my UV lights on November 5, 2024.
