Drab Brown Wave. This tiny little moth, with a rather sad name, was photographed at Huffman Prairie on August 6, 2016.
Gray Spring Moth. This species is very common in April and early May.
Rippled Wave Moth, photographed on July 23, 2022, in Adams County, Ohio. This moth has a southern range and most observations are a little further to our south.
Another Soft-lined Wave, photographed September 4, 2022. Note that this moth looks somewhat similar to the "no lace" form of the Large Lace Border. Soft-lined Waves are usually smaller, and they have smoothly-rounded hindwings.
Another Gray Spring Moth. These moths are regular visitors to my UV lights in the spring, and I also see them during the day while hiking at Sugarcreek MetroPark and Germantown MetroPark.
Another Pale Metanema moth, attracted with UV lights.
Soft-lined Wave, photographed July 31, 2021, near the Great Miami River at Middletown.
Pale Metanema. I have found several of these moths at my UV lights from April through August.
Variable Carpet Moth, photographed April 29, 2022 at Hocking Hills (eastern Ohio). I have also found this species at my home lights.
