DAGGER moths - Group #2
Retarded Dagger, also known as the Maple Dagger. These are fairly small dagger moths. (It is always useful to get a measurement with this group of moths!)
Yellow-haired Dagger (aka Powdered Dagger). I see these moths at my lights from April through August.
Heitzman's Dagger. This is an uncommon species with a restricted range.
Another Retarded Dagger (Maple Dagger). I have found several of these moths from April through July.
Fragile Dagger. Very similar to the Heitzman's Daggers above, but Fragile Daggers have a pale background instead of a brownish background. I photographed this moth at Hocking Hills on May 13, 2023. I have not yet found this species at my home lights.
Delightful Dagger. I have seen a couple of these moths at my lights in May and early June.

Afflicted Dagger, found at my moth lights on May 14, 2024. This is my only sighting of the species.
Eclipsed Oak Dagger. I have found this species twice at my lights, on August 13, 2023, and August 25, 2024.
Another Heitzman's Dagger. I have found a few individuals at my lights in May, July, and August.
