MISCELLANEOUS COLORFUL MOTHS



Clover Hayworm moth, attracted with UV light on October 5, 2015. The yellow fringe is wider, and the yellow spots are larger and more rounded. 

Yellow-fringed Dolichomia. I have seen this species a few times at my lights in June and September. 

Meal Moth, a worldwide species that eats stored grain products. 



Another Yellow-fringed Dolichomia moth. This species is similar to the Clover Hayworm (below), but this Yellow-fringed Dolichomia has triangular yellow markings and a narrower yellow fringe. 

Beautiful Eutelia moth. These nifty-looking moths eat poison sumac and poison ivy. The individual at left is the only one I have found at my home lights. Photographed May 14, 2024. 

Another Beautiful Eutelia moth. This one was photographed on May 13, 2023 at Hocking Hills. 

Another Meal Moth. I have seen these moths at my lights from May through September.

I have found a few Clover Hayworm moths from May through early November.
