PROMINENT MOTHS

Another Double-toothed Prominent. I have found several individuals at my lights in April and May, and also one in August.

Oval-based Prominent. This species is very common at my moth lights.

Georgian Prominent moth, photographed at Hocking Hills. I have not yet found this species at my home lights.

Chocolate Prominent moth, found May 12, 2018 at Hocking Hills (eastern Ohio). I have not yet found this moth at my home lights, but it was a neat find for a chocoholic like me!

Double-toothed Prominent, resting on a stick. This moth's disruptive camouflage makes it look like peeling bark or a broken twig.

Another Georgian Prominent moth at Hocking Hills.

Double-lined Prominent. Both the AM and PM lines are doubled with light shading between the lines.

Double-lined Prominents visit my black lights from May through August.

Black-spotted Prominent. I have found a few of these moths at my lights from May through August.

Another Black-rimmed Prominent. This one was photographed at my home lights.

I have only seen Black-rimmed Prominents at my home lights on two occasions: once on April 24, 2022, and also on July 9, 2018.
